Stress and Depression stongly hits UPSC aspirants

UPSC exam preparation is not preparing for tenth examination with known syllabus, known questions and allotted books, it is an examination which test our confidence ,patience ,emotion finance and mental health.UPSC prelims examination is filled with vast syllabus which contains History,Geography and Current affairs with huge information. Continuous learning by aspirants often leads to stress and anxiety.Also balancing the preparation with other family or personal commitments often leads to increased stress due to conscious time management. High pressure to get succeed in UPSC exams with limited vaccancies often creates anxiety and stress to aspirants. Public and family expectations on aspirants often creates unwanted stress to write continuous exams.

Long study hours and irregular sleep pattern often leads to disturbed mental health and poor cognitive health. Also eating unhealthy foods in places like Delhi during coaching often leads to fatigue ,peptic ulcer and liver problems. Lack of social interaction due to loneliness during preparation leads to more mental health problems like Anxiety and Depression.

Thinking about finance and family expectations on Aspirants often creates self doubt and inferior complex on Aspirants. Also women UPSC aspirants faces more family problems like delayed marriage and miscarriage problem due to increased age. Elder son of a family who prepares UPSC exam faces more more stress due to family responsibility and other commitments.
